Sneak Peak

How the Janus NoKe system makes your storage life easier!

Mobile Access

The Nokē Smart Entry system gives Storage Whales renters the convenience of mobile access to their storage unit at any time. No need to remember your gate code or where you left your key.

Stay in Your Car

No more lowering your window or opening your car door when you pull up to the gate. If you are within 15 feet of the gate, you can simply open the app and press the gate icon to open the gate.

Your Smartphone is Your Key

Your smartphone is your key with the Nokē Smart Entry system mobile app. Say goodbye to copying keys, re-keying locks, or remembering combinations.

Share Your Access

The Nokē Smart Entry system allows you to share access to your storage unit without having to lend out a physical key or combination. Share permission with your friends, kids, employees, and whomever you want to access your unit. And you can remove that permission when you are ready to do that as well.

Android and Apple

The Nokē Smart Entry system mobile app is available on both Android and Apple devices.

And most of all,

there is no padlock to purchase

and

no chance for a potential thief to try to cut your padlock off.

SO MUCH MORE SECURE!

Frequently Asked Questions

How do I get started?

When you rent a unit, you will receive a text message like the one below.  You can download the app by clicking on the link in the text message.   Alternately, you can search in the app store for “Storage Smart Entry” and download it just like you would any other app.

It will look like this:

Sample Text Message

Once the app is downloaded click “open” and it will take you to the login screen.  Log in using the phone number connected to your rental account.  (Using a different phone number will not work.  Using an email address will not work either.)

I have multiple units. How does that work?

The “Storage Smart Entry” will recognize all of your units based on the phone number you provide when you log in.  (This information MUST match what is on your online rental account.) The app will show each of your units on the mobile screen.  Click the icon for the unit you want to open to unlock that individual unit.

If you happen to have created multiple login accounts, please contact us for assistance in having them consolidated.

If you don't see all of your units on the app, please contact us for assistance.

I seem to be having trouble. What should I do?

Freezing? Crashing?  Spinning?  Can't Connect?

Try these steps:

- Force close the app.  Re-open it and log in again.

- Check for updates in the app store.  Try updating the app if there is an update available.

- Check to make sure Bluetooth and Location Services are turned on (Try turning them off and back on.)

- Check to make sure that Location Services are turned on specifically for the Storage Smart app.

Restart your phone

- Still not working, delete the app and reinstall it.

STILL NOT WORKING!  Ugh!  We feel your pain.

Give us a call (but NOT before you have completed the steps outlined above).

We strongly encourage our customers to confirm access to their unit as soon as possible.

If you need assistance, please email us a willy@storagewhales.com.

Can I reset my own password?

Absolutely.  Click "Reset Password" on the LOGIN SCREEN.

Can I let someone in my unit?

Our customers often need to allow someone else to access their storage unit.

Family members? Employees?  A neighbor?

In the past, the only way to make that happen was to give them a physical key to your unit and to provide them with the gate code.  If you have called us to help, you quickly discovered that we are legally not able to grant access to anyone who is not listed on your account.

Now it’s easy to help a trusted friend or family member access your storage unit by sending them a digital key through the Storage Smart Entry app. To share your digital key, click on the plus sign in the top right-hand corner of your Storage Smart Entry app and select “Share Unit.”  Type in the cell phone number of the person you would like to share the key to and select the unit or entry point that you’d like them to get access to. The new user will instantly receive an automated text message with a link to the Storage Smart Entry app and your digital key which grants them access to the unit.

You will be able to see who you have given access to and can remove access at any time – all through the “Storage Smart Entry” app.

What smart devices are supported?

The Nokē Smart Entry app is compatible with iOS devices that have Bluetooth 4.0 LE hardware and running iOS 7.0 or later (iPhone 4S or newer, iPod Touch 5G or newer, iPad 3G or newer, iPad minis).

It is also compatible with Android devices that have Bluetooth 4.0 hardware and running Kit Kat (4.4) versions of the Android operating system (including Samsung Galaxy S4 or newer, HTC One or newer, and several more).

* With the iPhone application, when the user is not actively using the app, the system moves it to the background state. For many apps, the background state is just a brief stop on the way to the app being suspended. Suspending apps is a way of improving battery life. It also allows the system to devote important system resources to the new foreground app that has drawn the user’s attention. Because of this, once you open the application, over time and as you open more apps, the app will become suspended and need to be re-launched.
